On-premises monitoring for MSPs

Monitor every site.
Open no ports.

Monitaria is on-premises network and infrastructure monitoring for MSPs and IT teams with many sites. A collector VM watches each network locally; a hosted hub shows you all of them, with outbound-only connections.

How it works

Install a collector VM at each site. It does the monitoring locally and pushes a small status snapshot outbound to the hub. Nothing on the internet ever connects in.

Customer site (on-premises)

  1. Step 1

    Your devices

Routers, switches, access points, firewalls, servers, printers and web services on the local network.
  2. Step 2

    Collector VM

Polls each device, keeps history in local SQLite, raises alerts and serves its own dashboard. Works fully standalone.

Hosted

Step 3

Monitaria Hub

Every site's status in one dashboard for the MSP. Sign in with Microsoft or Google. Sites that stop reporting are flagged as stale.

The hub never connects in to the site. No inbound firewall ports, no VPN, no port forwarding.

1. Import the VM

OVA for VMware and VirtualBox, VHDX for Hyper-V, qcow2 for Proxmox and KVM.

2. Discover the network

Run discovery from the collector dashboard. Devices are classified and given the right sensors.

3. Connect to the hub (optional)

Link the collector to your hub for a multi-site view. Skip it and the collector runs standalone.

Built for people who look after many networks

  • Checks that cover the basics well

Ping, TCP port, HTTP(S), DNS, TLS-certificate expiry and SNMP v1/v2c, including interface bandwidth from counters, device uptime, and printer status and toner levels.
  • Thresholds without the noise

Set warn and down thresholds per sensor, and require N failures in a row before a sensor goes down so a single dropped packet doesn't page anyone.
  • Alerts where your team works

Webhook alerts that work with Slack or Microsoft Teams, sent straight from the collector.
  • A full dashboard on every site

Each collector has its own local web dashboard and stores history in SQLite. If the internet link drops, monitoring at the site carries on.
  • Local accounts, optional 2FA

The collector dashboard uses local user accounts with a password and optional two-factor authentication.
  • One hub for every site

The hosted hub shows every site's status in one place. Sign in with a Microsoft or Google work account. Sites that stop reporting are flagged as stale.

SNMP v1/v2c

Network discovery that sets itself up

Point the collector at a subnet and it finds what's there, works out what each device is, and adds the sensors that make sense for it.

  • Ping sweep and ARP to find live hosts
  • Port and SNMP fingerprinting to identify device types
  • mDNS names so devices show up with readable labels
  • Sensors added automatically based on what each device is

Device types it recognizes

  • Routers
  • Switches
  • Access points
  • Firewalls
  • Servers
  • Printers

Your customers' network details stay on their network

What leaves the site

A status snapshot, only if you connect a hub:

  • Sensor name and device label
  • Status and latest value
  • Status message (with IP addresses redacted)

What stays on-premises

Always, on the collector VM:

  • Device IP addresses and hostnames
  • URLs being checked
  • SNMP community strings
  • Measurement history

Pushes are outbound HTTPS, signed with HMAC-SHA256, with timestamp and nonce replay protection. Read the security overview
