Reports and the report builder
Ready-made availability, Windows and health reports, plus your own branded reports built from sections, then printed, downloaded or emailed.

Reports has four views: Report builder, Availability, Windows health and Health review. Every report covers only the sites and device types the person looking at it may see. Each one prints cleanly and downloads as CSV.
The ready-made reports
- Availability: choose the Period (24 hours to 90 days), Per device or sensor, and optionally a device type and Site. Per device, availability comes from the ping sensor when there is one, because that is whether people can reach it. Laptops and phones that come and go are left out.
- Windows health: every Windows computer read over WinRM, with its version and Microsoft's end-of-support date, the last installed update, the fullest disk, stopped services and antivirus.
- Health review: what needs attention at each site, ranked Now (risk of an outage or data loss), Soon (security or capacity risks) and Next (housekeeping). Leave Site on All sites (overview) to compare sites, or pick one for its full review.
- Download CSV and Print / save as PDF work on all three. Read-only API tokens can fetch the same reports as JSON or CSV for a PSA or BI tool.
Build your own report
- Open Reports › Report builder and choose + New report.
- Give it a Title and choose the Period: Last 24 hours, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Previous calendar month, Previous quarter or Custom dates (up to 400 days). Months and the email hour follow the Time zone; leave it blank for the collector's own time.
- Under Covers, tick sites and device types, or add single devices. Leave them empty to cover everything you can see.
- Under Sections, pick a section and choose Add section. Change its settings, give it its own Heading if you like, and reorder with the up and down arrows.
- Choose Preview. Operators and admins can then choose Save; viewers can still preview and download.
The sections are Executive summary, Availability, Top problems and longest outages, Charts (up to 12 sensors each), WAN and link utilization, Traffic, Capacity forecast, Inventory and changes, Windows health and updates, Alert volume and noisiest sensors, Maintenance windows, and Notes for your own words. In the preview, Print or save as PDF uses your browser, Download HTML saves one self-contained file with no scripts that prints the same way, and Download CSV… saves any table with all its rows. Every number in the preview links to where it comes from in the app.
Brand it and start the monthly customer report
- Open Settings › Report branding (admins). The Report branding button in the report builder opens it too.
- Under Your company, enter the Company name, Accent colour and Footer, and choose a logo: PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP, up to 512 KB.
- Under Customers, choose + Add a customer, give it a Name such as Riverbend Logistics and tick its Sites. Optionally add a Contact on the cover and its own accent colour and footer.
- Choose Save branding. A customer's own logo can be added once the customer is saved.
- In Reports › Report builder, pick the customer, or a single site, next to Monthly customer report for and choose Start.
The monthly customer report covers the previous calendar month for those sites, branded, with a cover page that says who it's prepared for. It has an executive summary, availability by device, top problems and longest outages, WAN and link utilization, traffic, a capacity forecast, Windows health, inventory changes, alert volume, maintenance windows and a Notes and recommendations section. Check it, write your notes and save it; it isn't emailed until an admin adds recipients. Any other report can be branded too: tick Branded, with a cover page, and Prepared for fills itself in unless you type your own.
Email a report on a schedule
- Check that the mail server is set in Settings › Alerts.
- In the report, under Email (admins only), set Send to Every day, Every week or Every month, on the 1st, and choose On (the weekday, for weekly reports), At (the hour) and To (addresses, separated by commas).
- Match the Period to the schedule, such as Previous calendar month for a monthly email; the page suggests it. Choose Save.
- Enter your own address under Send a test to and choose Send test. A test doesn't count as the scheduled email. Send now sends the report to its recipients straight away.
Each email has the report in its body, with charts summarised in words and long tables cut to their first 25 rows, and the full report attached as an HTML file. Once the address people use to open Monitaria is set in Settings › Alerts, it ends with an Open in Monitaria link to the report. A new or changed schedule starts with its next send, so it never mails an old period at once. If a send fails, it's tried again every 30 minutes while it's still due, and the reason shows under Saved reports. For a short summary instead, Settings › Email reports sends what needs attention, the lowest availability and traffic with unusual activity, daily or weekly, for one site or all of them.
Good to know
- Everyone can build, preview, print and download reports. Operators can also save their own. Only admins can email reports, change scheduled or other people's reports, and set branding.
- People see only their own sites and device types in every report, and only admins see recipients. Accounts limited to device types get no traffic sections.
- Figures only go back as far as the collector keeps history: 30 days by default (storage.retention_days in config.json). For quarterly reports, keep at least 100 days.
- Windows health, inventory details and what needs attention describe the moment the report is made, not the period.
- There is no built-in PDF writer: print the preview or the HTML file to PDF from your browser.
- Up to 100 saved reports, 20 sections each, 20 recipients per report and 200 customers.
- Reports are built on the collector, inside your network, and email goes through the mail server set in Settings › Alerts. Logos are kept next to the collector's database, and every save, send and branding change is in Settings › Audit log.
